Oct, 2025: An interschool debate competition was organized at
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Silchar, on 27th. October, 2025 with
the participation of eight prominent schools from across the town. The event
aimed to instil critical thinking and public awareness among students through
the art of debating.
The topic for the debate
was “Public Awareness is the Greatest Weapon Against Corruption – Yes or No.”
Participants presented thought-provoking arguments, shedding light on the
significance of collective responsibility, transparency, and education in combating
corruption. The atmosphere was charged with intellect and conviction as each
participant put forth well-researched opinions and counterpoints.
Among the talented
debaters, Ms. Snigdha Paul and Ms. Pratijayee Paitya, both representing
Don Bosco School, Silchar, emerged victorious. Snigdha Paul secured the
First Position, while Pratijayee Paitya was declared the First Runner-up, earning
well-deserved applause from the judges and audience alike.
The panel of judges
praised the participants for their clarity of expression, logical reasoning,
and confident delivery. The event concluded on an inspiring note with all
students taking a pledge to remain honest, responsible, and committed to
eradicating corruption from society.
The competition not only
showcased the debating prowess of young minds but also reinforced the belief
that an aware and active citizenry is the cornerstone of a
corruption-free nation.
