Silchar 1st Nov, 2025: A Teachers’ Training session on “Competency-Based
Education: Changing the Way We Think About Teaching and Learning” was
conducted at Don Bosco School, Silchar by Sir Ranjan Sarangi.
The session emphasized the vital shift from content-based to competency-based
learning, focusing on developing skills, values, and real-life applications.
Sir Sarangi highlighted the multiple roles of teachers in modern education—as designers
of meaningful learning experiences, facilitators of
understanding, assessors of competency, mentors and
coaches, and lifelong learners themselves. He
inspired teachers to create classrooms that nurture critical thinking,
creativity, and collaboration. The session also stressed the importance of
connecting classroom learning to life and the community, making education more
relevant, engaging, and transformative. It was an enlightening and
thought-provoking experience for all participants.
